About the Founder/Facilitator
Carol A. Fagan, MS, founder, mother of 3, has devoted her career to working with young children and their families in a variety of settings. She has over 30 years of teaching experience working one on one, in the typical and special education classroom setting and in the homes of children and their families on and off the spectrum.
For the past three years, Ms. Carol has innovatively formed preschool social skills groups in the local community providing a specialized curriculum based on the social needs of young children. Her loyalty and dedication to the special population has earned her 18 years at the Hagedorn Little Village School as a SEIT teacher and Parent Trainer. Much learning in terms of the needs of the typical or not so typical child came from her experiences as a Toddler Teacher at Presbyterian Nursery School and Discoveries Preschool in Massapequa.
She proudly holds a Masters Degree in Special Education, a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education/ Special Education and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Her NYS Teacher Certification has marked its 30th year. Prior to the start of her family, her position as Team Leader and Educational Evaluator on the Early Intervention Assessment Team at LIJ Schneider Children's Hospital proved to be very rewarding as she and a very talented group of professionals implemented an arena style evaluation process.
Her love of teaching began as preschool special education teacher in Geneseo, NY following her graduation. She has supervised college students and worked her way quickly to Coordinator of the Preschool Intervention Program. This lead her back to Long Island as Preschool Special Education Teacher/Educational Supervisor at LIJ Schneider's Children's Hospital.
